Through my research, I have also created a water filter which is half the size and weight of a regular Bio-sand water filter on the market, and reduced the cost by over 60%. Water testing has been conducted to ensure the water is as clean as commercial filters on the market.The water filter that I have developed is an affordable, sustainable, and scalable solution for people who do not have access to clean drinking water. Currently, my filters are being built by volunteers in Bangladesh coordinated by me overseas and are being piloted in a few homes in Rajapur, Alampur, and Khustia, Bangladesh.
