Oversee the development, submission and administration of all competitive research grant funding, including Australian Research Council (ARC), National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), Medical Research Future Fund, Cooperative Research Centres, ARC Centres of Excellence and other local and international schemes. Leading the Faculty Research Office team to provide efficient and high level support and advice to faculty academic staff in the areas of research grant development (especially developing and submitting over 100 plus category 1 grants including Australian Research Council and National Health and Medical Research Council schemes), Higher Education Data Collection, support to research committees, ERA submission and internal grant scheme administration.Responsible to promote the faculty’s research strengths to industry by attending partnership meetings and also presenting to company boards and CEOs to negotiate for partnership opportunities for all ARC and NHMRC grants, in particular ARC Linkage and NHMRC partnership schemes.Strategic advice to the Dean and Associate Dean Research about research recruitment through fellowships. Mostly looking at recruitment through the NHMRC fellowships and ARC fellowships. I have helped identify several external candidates to apply through Monash Arts for fellowships and have successfully assisted these researchers in transitioning into full-time positions.

Led the development of grants in all categories of research income by implementing funding strategies for each school in the faculty and providing case management to researchers for high quality grant submissions. Promoted the faculty’s research strengths to industry by attending partnership meetings and presenting to company boards and CEOs to negotiate for opportunities on ARC Linkage grants and contracts and consultancies. Working closely with the Associate Dean Research, Manager Research Services and the Dean developed an academic research workload allocation points system to reflect publications, grants and community/industry work being undertaken by academic staff in the faculty.Formulated submission strategies with the senior management and Manager Research services on 2010 ERA data collection. This exercise included bringing academics from across the university to negotiate their participation in the HCA (Humanities and Creative Arts) cluster. Worked closely with researchers on identifying and negotiating Intellectual Property with industry partners.Increased the faculty’s grant success from a 20% to 36.5%, the highest the faculty had ever seenPlayed a key development and partnership management role in the success of 14 Linkage grants out of 17 submitted In 2009 the faculty was awarded a total of 22 ARC Discovery grants a total of $4.5m and a success rate of 35% I was awarded the Dean's award and Vice chancellor’s commendation award for exceptional performance by a professional staff member two times in recognition of my role in the faculty's grant success during this period.
