As a Director my responsibilities include: Administrative: Establishes and maintains a continuous and systematic process of curriculum development, assessment, review, evaluation, and implementation of the DI program. Maintain compliance with Accreditation Standards of ACEND and serves as a specialist and resource for for curriculum development. Provides guidance on the analysis and implementation of policy for local, regional and national educational programs and activities.Program Planning and Management: Lead graduate scheduling process (one year in advance) and recommending policy, curriculum, and program changes. Serves as the professional and technical advisor in the area of dietetics education providing advice and information to dietetic interns and students. Works closely with other VHA Dietetic Internship Directors to coordinate educational efforts throughout VHA. Manages program recruitment and keeps current all marketing and application materials for the program.Professional Development: Remains up-to-date in areas impacting the direction and administration of the dietetic internship program. Participates in professional organizations and meetings.Research: Generate research ideas, develop projects and conduct research year round. Ten research projects are on-going at a time. Provide guidance and help with research methodology and statistical analyses. Collaborate with researchers at Hines VA and outside parties for research projects.
