Audit responsibilities:Planning, managing and completing the engagement includes:• Research to obtain thorough understanding of each client’s industry and business• Meeting with the client to identify expectations, issues and challenges• Establishing the audit approach to the engagement, lead planning meetings, making effective utilization of team members’ skills and time and managing the audit within time, budget, scope and quality• Managing interpersonal relations and inspiring team members towards completion of work and adjusting the work plan when necessary• Identify potential risks and work towards mitigating those risks• Identify issues and research resolution to the issues• Review work of the team to ensure that all work is completed and documented as per the discussed audit approach• Continuously communicate and provide update to the Partner with respect to engagement’s status which includes risks, issues, audit status and budget • Strong focus on profitability, finding opportunities for extra billing (e.g. keeping track of “out of scope” work created by client), discuss with client to set their expectations under the direction of a Partner• Preparing complete financial statements, related notes and reports for delivery to the client• Draft bills and send for Partner’s approval• Attend audit committee/ wrap up meetings with Partner• Capture lessons learned and utilize them for further planning.Other responsibilities & skills:• Review simple corporate tax returns, work on complex tax assignments• Review NTR and review engagements• Mentor CPA students• Involved in the interview process for Co-Op students• Provide Caseware software training to new hires• Ability to work in a multitasked and fast-paced environment and work on multiple engagements concurrently• Proven excellent project management, leadership and organizational skills• Committed to providing excellent client service
