Her motherly instincts told her somethingwas not right with Richee. Child Richee was laterdiagnosed with craniosynostosis, a condition that prevented her brain from growing. At thisstage, Deepa experienced depression but fortunately her life turned around the day RICHEE layon the operation table. While entire family members cried outside, Deepa moved to thank Godthat there was hope for her child. In this stage, Mrs. Deepa felt her say “I have come into yourlife so that you will know true happiness” through Kaumaram Prashanthi Academy (Run byKaumaram Prashanthi Trust ), a School for Special children - that prophecy has come true.Actually RICHEE had been instrumental to start the school for special children to help them findtheir place in the world.The school had a humble beginning in the year 2006 as a NGO with three children.The institution which started out with a single therapist and a helper now has more than 250students with 75 staff members from different disciplines with all modern facilities likeComputer Lab, Vocational Training, Outdoor adventure sports, cooking & bakery, OccupationalTherapy, Indoor/Outdoor physical activities, Music and many more.
