Several years ago, I decided to pursue human resources as a profession - not something that anyone in my family had taken on before me. So while they looked at me with skepticism, I said to them, "Yes, I am going to get ‘corporatized.’" Many years forward, with a post graduate degree to my credit and varied roles in diversity & inclusion, business partnering and organization development, I decided to step out of the corporate world and start something on my own. After all, the corporate world had introduced me to my subject of passion and had taught me some important tips on entrepreneurship.Today, I work on building inclusive workplaces. With this purpose and deep-rooted belief in my heart, I started authempic consulting - where my vision is to create an environment to enable people to bring their whole self, every time. We believe that there is a need to recognize several aspects of diversity, including gender, generation and the elephant in the room – thought diversity and would like to be a catalyst to create this culture. So, what do we do? With INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP in our hearts, we write, facilitate, coach and consult, in order to build inclusive workplaces. In 2019, I published my first book 'Voices of Inclusion,' which explores topics of bias, inequality, and inclusion through a unique collection of Haiku, Haibun, and illustrations. This is a form of WRITING that we continue to use a lot in our work at authempic. In 2016, I was recognized as one among the ‘Women Achievers in the Pharma Industry” during the 50th OPPI AGM in Mumbai, India, with a feature in their book “The Colour of White.” And therefore, one of our programs at authempic, is a journey for women to get in touch with their own inner POWER.I am an avid reader and writer, love to travel, enjoy movies and music of the yesteryears, and enthusiastically teach English and learn French. I associate with causes for the environment and women’s empowerment. My linkedin profile speaks the most about me and Yes, I have a twitter id (@deeavidreader) where I tend to read more and gather the happenings of the world, while periodically posting some of my writings as well.
