I am an ecologist interested in community ecology, systematics, biodiversity assessment and conservation. I completed my Masters in Wildlife Science from the Wildlife Institute of India and have since been involved in various research projects at institutes across India for over a period of nine years. My earlier research has primarily revolved around understanding patterns and drivers of species diversity in space and time and how it relates to conservation and management issues such as climate change, habitat fragmentation, anthropogenic pressure etc. I have had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of taxa, including butterflies, sphingid moths, reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals and I am well-versed in sampling techniques used to estimate their population parameters and study their ecology. I have independently designed studies addressing specific ecological and conservation issues and have executed them on the ground working autonomously as well as in conjunction with the Forest Department and other government and non-government bodies. I have co-authored a book, three book chapters and published over 10 research articles in peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, I have had the privilege to present papers at two international conferences and have submitted three scientific reports to different governmental agencies.
