Lead and Manage embedded firmware/software, API DLL, drivers and test software development for Life Science Products including PCR products (Thermal Cycler both conventional and real-time), Protein Quantification (Gel Imaging), Protein Separation (Chromatography) and Cell Imaging (Cell Counters and Imagers) Products. Responsibilities:• Manage and lead international teams of high performance firmware and software engineers. • Develop and implement process improvement plans. • Architect embedded systems and embedded systems software.• Generate different design alternatives and pick the best solution. • Lead and manage, design and development of embedded systems software/firmware• Lead broad system definition to detailed implementation.• Work on developing estimates, efficient resource assignment.• Lead firmware team on multiple projects (both short and long term).• Lead and manage design and development of test software for manufacturing test fixtures and hardware verification/validation/calibration.• Work closely with program managers, product managers, scientists, electrical, mechanical, systems and optical engineering teams.• Create Technical specification and Firmware requirement specification docs.• Lead generation of design documents, design history files, verification test plans.• Participate in FMEA, worst case analysis and verification/validation of product/design.• Lead transfer of designed products to manufacturing and support any mfg and service issues.Key Achievements:• Led firmware team on T100 project. This product quadrupled sales, compared to previous product.• Always have been go-to person for any embedded systems/firmware related issues.• Resolved/fixed many key technical issues during development and manufacturing of product.• Involved in 15 new successful product developments from start to finish in all phases of product development (from feasibility to quick prototype to engineering design to transfer to manufacturing).
