Investigated 4H-SiC diode to improve the breakdown voltage: 1) Design and Fabrication of JBS diode on Silicon and SiC wafer; 2) Investigating the variation of breakdown voltage of 4H-SiC diode by using the concept of “Bevel Angle”; 3) Studying and developing suitable conditions for the deposition of Aluminium Nitride of different thicknesses; 4) Simulation of the 4H-SiC diode with the “Bevel Angle” by using Sentaurus & Medici to determine the optimum “Bevel Angle” and Aluminium Nitride thickness followed by its Fabrication; Knowledge Base: Solid State Electronics, Semiconductor Devices, Micro-electronics, Sentaurus, Medici.

Developed knowledge of fixed and mobile WiMAX, Wi-Fi wireless standards and other wireless technologies based on OFDM, WCDMA and TDMA. Developed hands-on experience with RF test equipment and tools such as spectrum analyzers, cable and antenna analyzers and drive test units with working knowledge of IP networking; understanding of Layer 2/3 data networking protocols. Study and design FPGA based Hardware and Algorithms for a “Digital Front End for Base Station RF”, the work includes:1) Crest Factor Reduction of LTE & WCDMA signals2) Digital Up Conversion & Digital Down Conversion of LTE & WCDMA signals3) Digital Predistortion of LTE & WCDMA signal The above techniques have been simulated using Matlab & are being implemented on FPGA’s. V/f control of a Three Phase Induction Motor using Microcontroller IC 8051: 1) A detailed study and analysis of The Three Phase Induction Motor; 2) Programming of 8051 Microcontroller to generate 3 phase pulse signals which are given to the inverter which in turn runs the motor, the program was written in machine language and optimized in C++; 3) Design & Development of Voltage Booster, SMPS and other drive circuits with short circuit protection;Knowledge Base: Power Electronics, Induction Motors, Microcontrollers, C++, Circuit Design.

1) Design and testing of short circuit protection circuit for the home ups designed by BPL; 2) Developing circuit designs for devices like home ups, rechargeable torches, emergency lanterns and audio systems; 3) Designing of a high current capacity voltage regulator using IC MC34063A/E in OrCAD followed by its hardware implementation; 4) Design & Development of a solar powered charger for a VRLA battery by using the above mentioned regulator; Knowledge Base: Power Electronics, Solar Cells, Analog Circuit Design, OrCAD, Regulators.
