Worked with KNPC (MAA refinery), Kuwait for more than 30 years as Inspection Engineer for the process units – FCCU (Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit), HCR (Hydrocracker Unit), Hydrodesulphurization Units (Kerosene, Gasoline, Atmospheric Residue Desulphurization Units), Vacuum Distillation Unit and Hydrogen Production Unit and Offsite Tankages & Piping areas. Having more than 40 years’ experience in inspection of FCC and Hydrocracker Units. Responsibilities include but not limited to:• Inspection and endorsement of static equipment and piping in process units during turnarounds and routine maintenance.• Advise immediate repairs and long term recommendations, to ensure equipment integrity.• Maintain records for Inspection History, Repairs & Alterations and reports for inspection activities.• Inspection Engineer of RBI Team for Shell-RBI study of FCC, HCR, HPs, SWSU, KD-Hydrodesulphurization unit.• Inspection Engineer for Turnaround Work Scope Challenge Workshops for Primary and Secondary process units.• Prepare Inspection Worklist and review Unit Turnaround Work Scope.• Participate in conducting the Root Cause Analysis of incidences/failures in refinery.• Carryout failure analysis with the assistance of corrosion engineers. Recommend to avoid recurrence of the same.• Participated as a team member for evaluating and approving various manufacturing industries of India for supplying of the materials such as Tubes/Pipes/Valves, Breech Lock Heat Exchangers, Fin-fan Coolers etc.• Train the new Undergraduate (Inspection) Engineers and guide / advise all the associated colleagues. Shutdown Experience: Handled Shutdown / Turnarounds for various units like CDU, VDU, FCCU, HCR, ARDs, Naphtha and Kero - Hydrotreater, Hydrogen Production Unit, Hydrogen Recovery Unit, Boilers, Tankages and Offsite piping etc.

Started my career with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, India. After working at two refineries namely at Mathura Refinery Grass Root level), Uttar Pradesh and at Gujarat Refinery, Vadodara in Gujarat at various positions in a period of 14.5 years and was head of Inspection in Gujarat Refinery. I resigned as Inspection Manager in 1993 to join KNPC, Kuwait. The experience at IOCL was not limited to ensure Inspection / Integrity of equipment and piping of refinery units and captive boilers but also to liaise with statutory requirement of Boiler Directorate, SMPV rules and Factories Act and comply with their requirement.
