I was engaged in M&A and Integration project with an investment of around $350m in Nigeria. This is a large scale acquisition within the Industry in Nigeria and after the acquisition Olam will be the No.1 player in the segment in Nigeria. I will also be leading the carve out of transportation business from the acquisition, set it up and run as a successful business model which will enable future investments.

• Heading overall finance function for new business, Animal Feeds & Proteins, including Controllership, Treasury & Risk management, Business Partnership, with a targeted turnover of over $250m in year 1 and Invested capital of around $200m. Business set up with 4 different business verticals from trading (import/export), manufacturing and Live-stock management.• Setting up pan Nigeria finance function & defining processes for the business with two manufacturing location, 10 local procurement locations and 6+ Sales locations. • Augmenting concessional capital from bank and other financial institutions for project finance and working capital requirement. Secured concessional loan worth ~$16m from bank/agric lending institution at ~9% rate vs commercial rate of ~25%.• Managing currency cost and exposure in a highly volatile forex economy.• Managing interest cost in a high inflationary economy by leveraging thru offshore financing at the same time managing it with no currency exposure.• SAP and Mtech ERP implementation for the entire business.

- Monitoring business performance & reporting for oils & fats and personal care (OFPC) business units in UAE, Malaysia, India and Indonesia- Development of 3-year strategy statement and annual business plans of different business units as per guidelines.- Finance lead in development and monitor forward looking business intelligence and key business metrics with Business Units. Single finance lead in implementation of BI tool for entire IFFCO group.- Ensuring financial discipline and working capital management, Monitoring capital expenditure, enforcing strict credit control for export shipments.- Monitor effective management of foreign currency, interest and counter party risks exposure. Help devise risk management strategies and monitor compliance with IFFCO policies and applicable corporate and tax laws.- Support business acquisition, restructuring, business expansion and disinvestment initiatives.

Determining financial objectives for the year for domestic business, driving the desired outcomes thru forecasting model and providing first hand information to management of impact due to inflation or any other nature, driving pricing changes to mitigate the costs impacts, providing financial expertise to the New product development team, driving working capital improvements, working closely with marketing & sales team for developing strategic plans for 3 to 5 years, driving various business projects to improve overall profitability.

Designing & implementing controls and processes to ensure smooth functioning of Modern Trade Commercial, Partnering with the sales team in the TOT negotiation with the channel partners, Analyzing profitability of the channel partner and provide inputs and work along with sales team and channel partner to improve the same, Responsible for receivables & reconciliation with Direct Modern trade partners, Budgeting & managing various trade specific spends for Modern Trade channel, managing and improving fill rates (service levels) for direct modern trade partner.

Ensuring Regional commercial controls and spend management for the region, Responsible for receivables, CFA operations, Local taxes for the region, partnering with Sales for various trade specific spends budget.
