Qualys is a $300+ million cloud security company whose solutions span security and compliance for endpoints, servers, containers and cloud. I moved to Qualys as part of its acquisition of my company - Adya- in 2019. I am responsible for the integration of Adya into the Qualys Cloud Platform as the SaaS Security and Compliance solution. Marketing, product and evangelization of SaaS security on the Qualys Cloud Platform.

Adya was a company I co-founded to help with security and compliance of cloud applications. We had gleaned from speaking with prospects that there was a need for a mid-market focused solution for management and security of SaaS applications. From that insight was born Adya. Adya was a SaaS product that helped enterprises manage and secure their SaaS applications such as Google G Suite, Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, Slack, etc. As enterprises move to cloud applications they find it difficult to administer this SaaS sprawl. Adya provided one console for IT admins to centrally manage their critical SaaS apps (and hence save time and reduce errors), manage SaaS licenses (and hence save money) and secure their data no matter where it may be.I developed the concept, founded the company, raised funding, hired the team of over 10 engineers and sales and marketing contractors and worked with the team to release the product within 6 months. The product had a very successful launch and we were acquired by Qualys in January 2019 to form the SaaS security product line of the Qualys platform.

Druva, a privately held firm based out of Sunnyvale, CA, backed by Sequoia and Nexus Venture Partners, is focused on data protection to the cloud. The company has two major product lines - Insync (for backup of data from endpoints) and Phoenix (for data backup from servers). I set up the Phoenix product line for server backup - validated the market, hired PMs, built the product, built and validated the pricing model, worked on messaging and marketing and took it to a successful launch.

Riverbed was the leader in WAN Optimization solutions that helped enterprises deliver applications to their branch offices efficiently and cost effectively. The core deduplication and application acceleration technology allowed enterprises to consolidate their applications to the datacenter but continue to deliver them to remote users in branch offices as if they were local. It made the WAN feel like a LAN.I joined Riverbed in 2007 as a senior PM focused on application acceleration of the core WAN Optimization product. During my time there I held several positions including as the lead of the Riverbed Virtual Services Platform (VSP) (delivering branch services such as AD/DNS/DHCP on the Riverbed devices), Riverbed EX (the next generation Riverbed appliance with built in edge services), Riverbed Granite (extending datacenter storage to the edge) and Riverbed Mobile (applying WAN Optimization to edge devices)

Spirent Communications is a provider of automated test and assurance solutions for networking providers such as Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, Riverbed, etc. I joined Spirent as a product manager for a new product aimed at enterprises that would be focused on Layer 4-7 testing. In my time there, I released several versions of the flagship Layer 4-7 testing tool (aka "Avalanche") , a low-end , entry-level product ("Avalanche Starter") positioned for the mid market as well as the high end platform (aka "Avalanche High Performance") aimed at the datacenter.

Sun Microsystems was one of the leading vendors of computer systems and software (Java, ZFS, Solaris, etc). I joined Sun as part of it's acquisition of Netscape's server assets (which was rechristened to "iPlanet") as part of the AOL/Netscape acquisition. I moved into technical marketing shortly after the acquisition and was responsible for interfacing with clients and communicating the technical merits of iPlanet products - via code samples, whitepapers, demos, industry talks, etc.

Netscape was the pioneer of the internet era that is today best known for the first commercially available browser (Netscape Navigator). I joined Netscape in 1997 in their consulting division and was focused on helping Fortune 500 clients take their first steps into this new internet era. It was a dream job for a new graduate where I got the opportunity to work on the latest technologies and interface with veteran CIOs of large companies such as Merrill Lynch, Fidelity, Vanguard and Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) on their web strategies.
