 Lead the development and implementation of procurement policies and system strategies to support Procurement, tendering, contracts management, spend analytics and supplier performance management. Drive continuous improvement, best value and quality improvements within the team and departments in challenging existing practices and actively seek ways to achieve better outcomes, contributing to ensure key performance and financial targets are met and corrective action taken where necessary. Work within institutions with “Value for Money” strategy, as promoted by SVDU, to identify and capitalize on purchasing opportunities as they arise. Report to the President, Registrar, VC and respective committees as may required from time to time to provide up to date status reports on procurement to include development, demonstrate value for money and compliance to regulatory procurement requirements and legal matters. Ensured about purchasing strategies and processes are in place to meet objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets, which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market to include: Terms and conditions, supplier selection/de-selection, evaluation and rationalization of supply chain solutions including vendor managed inventory, supplier consignments and safety stock. Develop excellent and effective collaborative relationships with Vendors, Contractors, material providers and other agencies to ensure strategic and operational needs are fully understood and incorporated.  Organize and lead the Purchase committee meeting with members, all respective concerns and Top Management. Coordination with Project Consultants for the Tender Preparation, Project Requirement, specifications and to understand the technicality, importance of various materials and products.
