David J Pierce here, and I'm a composer/arranger, performer and educator. Graduated from UNT with a Bachelor's of Music Ed, ('97), and taught in the Southlake Carroll ISD for 10 years ('97-'07). During that time, I taught beginner band students up to high school age, and started developing a jazz program that eventually consisted of 4 high school and 5 middle school groups, eventually leading to the award winning program that exists currently. In 2009, I created "Cirque du Horror," which is an all ages, family friendly Halloween musical that has performs every October up in Denton, TX. Along with that, I serve as Executive Director of Denton's Day of the Dead Festival, which I created in 2011. I have served as music director of the Denton Holiday Lighting Orchestra, which collaborates with many of Denton's musical gems as part of the Holiday Lighting Concert every December. During the past 25 plus years, I have written and directed music for recording projects of all levels and genres, as well as music for bands, orchestras, choirs and theatre programs around the metroplex and across the state. I continue to work with many different musical groups as a clinician, musical director and producer.
