I am a passionate and empathetic Crisis Counsellor at Vandrevala Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides 24/7 support to people in distress. My mission is to help clients overcome their challenges, enhance their well-being, and empower them to make positive changes in their lives. I have a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Indira Gandhi National Open University, and I have completed certifications in Person Centred Counselling and International Certified Career Coaching.As a Crisis Counsellor, I provide crisis intervention, information, or referrals to clients on the agency's crisis lines through a telephonic chat interface. I serve as a gatekeeper in addressing the immediate needs of suicidal clients as well as those who are ideating and engaging in self-harm, while ensuring their safety is of utmost importance. I administer Psychological First Aid to clients in distress and dealing with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction issues, relationship issues, exam-related stress, and anxiety. I use my interpersonal skills, empathy, and reflective listening skills to establish rapport, assess the situation, and offer appropriate support or guidance. I also facilitate online group therapy sessions on the helpline platform that allows to widen my scope of practice. I enjoy working with a diverse and supportive team of counsellors, supervisors, and volunteers, and I am always eager to learn new skills and techniques to improve my practice.
