Research Development Project Engineer
Recently, I was working on development of computational model for finite deformation crystal plasticity framework for creep and fatigue in Ni-based superalloys. Creep and fatigue damage criteria’s plays a significant role in high temperature applications because of the adverse operating conditions. The main objective of the project is to develop single crystal creep model, which accounts for the superalloys micro-structure (γ/γ’) and to investigate creep, low cycle fatigue and their interaction behaviour in superalloys. For this purpose, crystal plasticity based micro-structurally informed multi-scale framework is developed to investigate the influence of precipitate γ’ and alloy content on hardening, creep and fatigue behaviour of the superalloys.
Project Research Associate
As a Project Associate, I have worked on redesigning the conventional isotropic bladed disk in 2nd or 3rd stage of aero-engine compressor to a thinner stiff bladed ring (BLING) assembly made of Ti/SiC composite. To know the overall effective properties of the composite, a 3D micro-mechanical model of Ti/SiCf is modelled in ABAQUS for homogenization. Periodic Boundary Conditions were applied and homogenized effective properties of the healthy RVE was evaluated through micro-mechanics in ABAQUS. Currently, I am working on Damage Mechanics with emphasis on Fiber Cracking in Metal Matrix Composites based on Variational Asymptotic Method.
