Senior Hospital Advocate Volunteer
Safeplace
Austin, Texas Area
The main responsibility as a Senior Hospital Advocate is to meet survivors at the hospital to educate them about SafePlace and the services they provide, to be there for any support the survivors need, emotionally as well as helping them plan their next steps. As a Senior Hospital Advocate, I am responsible for training new advocates, which includes "buddy shifts" where a new advocate and a senior advocate are paired for a shift so the senior advocate can guide, advise and be a support system during training.
