MCI Group, formerly Eruditus (pre merger), now excels as a self-managed family office with £6.75M in assets, specialising in all real estate developments for our fund. Growing from strength to strength, we aim to reach £10M+ by 2025. The Group is a steadily growing hub concentrating on purchasing land and properties, overseeing construction, to handling sales and leasing.

Leading on complex clinical and corporate programmes helping implement the integration plan as per the merger FBC. I worked within divisions to integrate clinical teams and services simultaneously delivering synergy savings (CIP) and improved patient outcomes. Achievements included; merging stroke and cardiology services.

Placement 1: UHNM – GENERAL SURGERY (Business Support Manager)As a graduate trainee I’m building an understanding of both operational and strategic management roles. At present, my focus is operational with a view to gain more strategic management exposure. Currently my responsibilities & achievements include:• Overseeing Breast Services. Responsible for 30+ members of staff: consultants, nurses, secretaries etc…• Breast Service improvement paper; ensuring best practice tariffs are employed, resulting in saving 85 bed days YTD, saving £33,426 and increasing elective work earning potential by £135,700.• Starting up a much needed psychology service for ladies with breast cancer. • Identifying and putting into action Cost Improvement Programmes (CIPs) recently identified procedural changes to outpatient coding, which will bring in ~£91,000+• Theatre utilisation project. Average utilisation has increased by 8% from October 2016, thus generating additional income.• Demand and capacity planning: setting up clinics and theatre lists.• Pulling patients through pathways to ensure we meet our 2 week wait, 31 day, 62 day and 18 week RTT targets.• Beds meetings: 48 hours forward view for flow planning.

Working with clinicians/managers to help amalgamate information on the impact of the merger, this included; impact on patients, impact on the local STP, finance/potential cost savings and pre-day 1 merger plans in order to strengthen operational plans. Helping write and edit parts of the full business case.

My Masters degrees and my work in research enabled me to very quickly gain a strong strategic foothold within the pharmaceutical sector, working with FTSE 100 Pharmaceutical companies to develop strategy.
