Title: Bio-cultural Adaptations: People of India, study on Type 2 diabetes on Gangadikara VokkaligasGangadikara Vokkaligas families were studied to identify the interrelationship between case and control subjects along with anthopometry, psychological and clinical data. The biochemical markers related to Type-2 diabetes and its associated risk factors like CVD was studied. The genetic markers of Type-2 diabetes was studied in case controls using Taqman assay in RT PCR.Fasting plasma glucose, lipid profile, liver function test, kidney function test were analysed using ERBA kits in automated biochemical analyser EM 360.Thyroid profile (T3, T4 and TSH) was analysed using Chemiluminescence technology in Immulite 1000.2 plex assay of insulin and ghrelin using multiplex luminix technology.33 taqman primers of diabetes were studied using Allele discrimination in RT PCR by Taqman assay.
Junior Research Fellow
I was involved in the project "People of India: Bio cultural adaptations: Bio cultural risk factor assessment of type 2 diabetes on Gangadikara Vokkaligas" Collection of data regarding their physical activity, clinical history, life style, psychological and socio economic data. I have analysed the BMI , Body fat % measurement using the Bio impedence ..Extraction of DNA samples and also its quantitative check for all of them using spectrophotometer. Thyroid analysis (T3, T4 and TSH) of all the plasma samples using Immulite 1000. 2 plex (Adiponectin and Resistin) analysis of plasma samples in Luminex.I have attended the hands on training on Immulite 1000.I was DNA extraction of second visit samples and quantification of all DNA dilutions. I did the 5plex analysis of plasma samples on luminex. I did the biochemical analysis of second visit serum samples. I am trying to conduct awareness camps in Mysore and surrounding areas by contacting subjects of nearby areas to gather people. The extracted DNA was diluted and RT PCR for 50 cases and 50 control samples were done. The RT PCR was done using Taqman assay. The RT PCR was done for 33 Taqman primers. The alleles were sorted out using taqman genotyper software.

Conducting Theory and Practical classes in Biochemistry and Biotechnology. Theory classes includes oral and powerpoint presentations on Organic and Inorganic Biochemistry, Physiology and Immunolgy , Genetics and Molecular Biology chapters.
Lecturer In Biochemistry
Guest Researcher
I was involved in the "DNA Polymorphism in Contemporary Indian Population and Ancient Skeletal Remains" projectI have extracted DNA from Konda reddy and Koya reddy tribal blood samples. The extracted DNA was quantified using UV spectrophotometerThe PCR was conducted using Mitochondrial primersI have conducted PCR for 15 Tribal samples using M9,M47,M89 primers to check for their snp and to classify their haplotypesthe sequencing of all these samples were done using ABI 3730
