I am a BS-MS graduate in Biological Sciences from the Indian Institute of Science Education andResearch (IISER) Berhampur, with a specialization in protein biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I have nearly two years of experience as a Junior Research Fellow at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR)Hyderabad. My research background includes developing and optimizing innovative geneticallyencoded metabolite FRET-based biosensors for in vivo metabolic studies. My thesis was focused on enhancing the dynamic range of a genetically encoded pyruvate FRETbiosensor through mutagenesis approaches. This research contributed to refining the sensor'saffinity and sensitivity, crucial for studying metabolic processes with high spatial and temporalresolution. After completion of my MS thesis,I enrolled as a Junior Research Fellow at TIFR Hyderabad where I worked on developing novel biosensors for detecting polyphosphates in living organisms. I constructed, expressed, and purified a FRET-based biosensor, characterized it through various assays, and initiated in vivo detection in mammalian cell lines.In the light of COVID-19 pandemic back in 2020,a COVID testing lab(BSL2 level) was set up in our institute,in which I participated in RNA isolation, RT-PCR and sample sorting of the patient samples.So in a nutshell I have expertise in molecular biological techniques such as E.coli culture, cloning, proteinexpression and different protein purification methods such as Ni-NTA and HPLC(Ni-NTA and SECcombined),protein quantification,plasmid isolation,FRET assays,PCR,qPCR, and a little bit ofmammalian cell culture. I am highly motivated to pursue interdisciplinary, industry-oriented research, with a strong commitment to delivering application-based solutions tailored to client needs. I am also keen to gain diverse experience and enhance my skillset in an industrial or clinical setting, contributing to innovative solutions and advancements. I thrive in collaborative settings, enjoying teamwork both within and across labs to tackle problems outside my expertise.
