Leading cSPACE Projects as President & CEO, my expertise in strategic leadership and community engagement has been pivotal in cultivating vibrant, creative spaces for urban renewal. Our flagship initiative, the cSPACE Marda Loop Arts Hub, demonstrates our commitment to sustainability, integrating the adaptive reuse of heritage architecture with contemporary design to foster a LEED Gold-certified hub of creativity and collaboration. With a strong focus on community development, our team's efforts have resulted in the creation of a multidisciplinary venue that not only houses artist studios, nonprofit offices and event spaces but also serves as a beacon for social equity and economic viability. The success of this project and others under our stewardship epitomizes our mission to invigorate communities through culture-led urban revitalization and the empowerment of local artists and organizations.

Course Director - Spatial Relationships And The Educational EnvironmentWerklund School Of Education, University Of Calgary Sep 2015 - Dec 2015Calgary, Canada AreaThis course was developed in conjunction with Robert Kelly's Design Thinking for Innovation Graduate Program. This course intent was to apply creative design practice towards the spatial relationships of the environments we occupy. This highly participatory course aimed to develop understandings of spatial relationships through methods that promote awareness and engagement of space at the scale of the body, architecture and urban realm. As a central part of the course, participants engaged in embodied learning, reflective practice and collaborative exchange to develop subjective and conceptual understandings of the relational dimensions that inform space and placemaking practice. Participants were engaged in projects out in the Calgary community to explore spatial relationships at different scales with intent to inform innovative design solutions for the educational context. In an article entitled, “Imagining an Innovative Educational Place” insights from this course were relayed to a larger audience via Robert Kelly's book on, Creative Development: Transforming Education through Design Thinking, Innovation and Invention.Schurig, Deeter. “Imagining an Innovative Educational Place.” Creative Development: Transforming Education through Design Thinking, Innovation and Invention.
