Field Service technician experience with the MK 15 Phalanx Close-in weapon system, MK 31 Guided Missile Weapon system (GMWS) Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) MOD 1/3, and SeaRAM Close-in Weapon System providing advanced troubleshooting to ships stationed in Mayport. Conducted multiple Total Ship Readiness Assessments (TSRA’s) for listed weapon systems in support of Fleet Assessment. Isolated problems to the lowest replaceable unit (LRU) using technical publications, technical drawings, and ordered parts for repairs improving the material condition of listed weapon and RADAR systems. Interpreted blueprints, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, external and internal cooling systems, valve drawings and technical manuals. Performed fault analysis and repaired cable assemblies, including fiber optic cable and various connector systems.

Led and supervised over 40 enlisted personnel in the Weapons Department in the daily operation and maintenance of various weapon systems. Supervised the maintenance and repair of various equipment casualties utilizing electro-mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, optical, fiber optic, and pneumatic subsystems onboard the ship on Mk 15 Phalanx, MK 45 Optical Sight System, Mk 45 Light Weight Gun System, and Mk 38 Mod 2 25mm. Managed the Armory responsible for maintaining and operationally testing all magazines onboard to include ensuring accurate inventory and repair and issue of M9, M14, M16, small arms weapons systems. Managed qualification certification records involving Anti-Terrorism Force Protection and Ordnance handling. A Quality Assurance and Safety Officer during ammunition evolutions and Range Safety Officer during live fire small arms qualification events, providing Anti-Terrorism training to all Departments onboard.

Mentored and instructed over 225 Electronic technician and Firecontrolman accession students in all RADAR Modules including RADAR Labs for interactive troubleshooting. • Volunteered for an Individual Augmentee Tour. Served with the Counter Rocket Artillery and Mortar Six Joint Intercept Battery Two at Balad, Iraq. Performed numerous emergent repairs on the C-RAM weapon system saving the Army/Air Force an estimated $300K in repairs, repair parts, and contracted work by initiating depot level repairs to prevent cascading faults and fixing casualties in a timely manner to save man-hours and provide point-defense to Army/Air Force assets.

Placed as Combat Gunnery Workcenter Supervisor. Successfully led a team of four in conducting over 12 successful live fire events. Spearheaded the timely correction of four major weapon system casualties in order to re-establish AirWarfare defense capabilities onboard. Qualified onboard as a Line Coach greatly contributing to the qualification and training of over 200 personnel in familiarity and safe deployment of the M9, M500 and M16 weapon systems.

Placed in charge of maintaining two Close In Weapon Systems along with supervising and training five junior personnel. Certified as a Forklift and Grove Crane Operator in support of numerous live ordnance uploads for the Rolling Airframe Missile System, NATO Sea sparrow Missile System and Close in Weapons Systems with zero incidents. Diagnosed and corrected over 13 major casualties ranging from the Gun Handling Ammunition System, Radar Subsystem, Environmental Subsystem, Pneumatic Subsystem, Hydraulic Subsystem and Display Subsystem just to name a few. Maintained a 99.7% average of missile defense reliability and scored a 94% on weapon defense operability and knowledge during a live AirWarfare grading event. Executed over 25 live fire events including a successful live drone shoot.

Attended and completed an in-depth knowledge of operation, preventive and corrective maintenance of CIWS MK 15 Block 1A and Block 1B Baseline 0/1. This course provides Block 1A and Block 1B Baselines 0/1 training in the following areas: 1. Introduction and Fundamentals 2. Power Control and Distribution Subsystem 3. Performed over 480 hours of duty consisting of armed perimeter patrols, gate sentry and vehicle inspections in support of post September 11th attack. Trained in the safe deployment of M9, M500 and M16 weapon systems to include vehicle Improvised Explosive Device search and detection techniques.
