I'm curious. I always have been. By the time you and I meet, we've both been through a thing or two. We've experienced success and failure, contentment and loss. We have learned and grown and we've also crashed and burned and have the scars to prove it. Those stories we hold have made us who we are today. Our degrees and job experiences, certificates and accolades only tell part of the story of what drives us, motivates us, sets us apart, or (and?) ignites our passion. Over the past ten years, I've leveraged my curiosity to help leadership teams increase their capacity to successfully engage difference of all kinds, in order to strengthen their commitment to DEI initiatives. As a Qualified Administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory, I offer keynote presentations, 1:1 and group consultation and coaching, customized team-building workshops, and support for all, from those who are DEI-curious, to groups and individuals looking to tweak and/or grow an already successful DEI program.The truth is, as much as we truly want to believe the opposite, we're way more different than we are alike. We start to see this when we begin to create opportunities to hear one another's stories. Often, when we begin to listen, we're inspired, amazed, or encouraged by what we learn. From time to time, however, we are shocked to learn just how much we may differ from our team members, neighbors, and family members (hello, 2016 and 2020!). Our initial reaction to these shocking differences is either fight or flight; neither of which makes us better. I've learned a more curious approach reaps exponential benefits and I can teach you how to tap into your curiosity about those who are different from you so that you and your team/neighbors/family can move through the roadblocks that trip others up.Curious?
