I am passionate about communities of people and business development. Being born and raised on a farm and spending the majority of my professional career in the Agricultural Industry, I gained valuable, relevant and practical experience, knowledge and skills. My goal is to share the aforementioned skills and experience with suitable partners to assist South Africans to grow a new mindset to seize opportunities, see accountability as an asset and mentor skills to create an uplifting destiny and a desired future.My areas of interest include: • The practical challenges of SMME’s, entrepreneurs and the building blocks of successful start-ups. • The set-up of structures and the development of intellectual frameworks. • The mentoring of business leaders, communities and employees.• To challenge the poverty traps in communities.• The science to enable broken communities to become more functional. • The process of challenging and mentoring disadvantaged communities to find their own solutions.I find the synergy between people, business, communities, natural resources and housing on the oikos principal fascinating. I observe and read about factors which create sensible, sound and sustainable communities.I am a life-long learner and persistent reader. To trade in ideas, to synergize opportunities and to connect dots come naturally. I find the ability to think on a strategic level and solving problems energizing. I am a qualified Political Scientist, Futurist, Entrepreneur and Business Manager and through experience, training and self-tuition attained skills in Office-, Financial-, Business-, Project- and Basic Farm Management as well skills in Community Building.Since 1990, I have been responsible for a quarterly article in the Canning Board newsletter, ‘Die Krat’. I have written more than 64 articles on farming related issues in South Africa. I do scans for the Institute of Future Studies at Stellenbosch University, being published in a periodical.I am a successful entrepreneur and creative business thinker, and I had the privilege of being involved in the start-up of four successful businesses.
