I was selected from 900 applicants to join a cohort of 30 candidates at the Ten10 Graduate Academy. As I did not come from a technical background, I received six weeks of training in areas including: * Fundamentals of Testing. * Enterprise IT. * Java and Automation Basics. * SQL. * Agile and Waterfall Methodologies.* Non-Functional Testing. I was then deployed as Junior Consultant for a multinational retailer, where I conducted the system integration testing for an Oracle ERP system. I also worked with a wealth management firm where I supported the digital transformation of their payments process. Highlights: * Voted the most optimistic colleague in the Academy 13 cohort. * Created high-quality test scripts from technical design documents. * Facilitated User Acceptance Testing for multiple front-end users. * Developed symbiotic relationships with the internal IT functions, including application support, development and change management teams.* Ran a Lunch and Learn session on Scrum and Agile Principles. * Additional Dev-Ops Training in Linux, Docker, Jenkins and Networking.

During this nine month environmental leadership programme, I was equipped with the knowledge, networks, skills and confidence to reach my leadership potential and take social action on issues that I care about.Major achievements include:• Increased commercial awareness of the political, economic, social, technological and environmental issues that organisations face as a result of meeting leaders from a variety of public and private sector organisations.• Created and delivered a dragons den pitch for my social action project. The result of this is that my team and I managed to secure the £50 funding we needed for the event that we hosted at Birmingham City University. • Created and delivered Fight for Food (FFF) social action project that engaged the student population with the issue of food waste. • Developed communication and relationship building skills by reaching out and bringing together key stakeholders such as Birmingham City University, Lets Feed Brum, Food Cycle and FareShare West Midlands.• Speaking on BBC Radio 5 with Uprising CEO to discuss the importance of voting. This was a fantastic opportunity for me to use my public speaking skills to inspire the youth.• Developing a wide and diversified network of contacts.
