Leading the HR team (c18) responsible for the people and organisation development agenda Responsible for management of Remuneration Committee (reporting to our Chairman Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller) on reward strategy and senior management remuneration. Some examples of more recent initiatives include:• Devised and launched 3 year Learning and Organisation Development strategy • Managed a major organization development project to articulate the organisation’s values• Reviewed and simplified performance management cycle, policies and practices. • Managed people surveys. In 2016 Wellcome and the HR team were recognized in the top 100 Great Places to Work • Reviewed reward and recognition strategy, and practices in line with development of culture and strategy• Enhanced the benefit offering for all staff with various low cost additions• Established a diversity and inclusion agenda • Launched Graduate Development, Internship and Apprenticeship programmes to attract generational diversity. • Established a volunteering policy in line with CSR and L&D strategy. Organised team building days for my department at local community projects. • Supported organisation and individuals through major structural and cultural change.

Responsible for a small team of direct reports. Role focused on high quality transactional elements:covering HR management and training, policies and procedures. • Designed an induction programme,• Established internal training function, running a suite of internal courses, workshops and briefings.• Managed a major restructuring programme and resulting redundancies in line with revised strategic plan to streamline a number of key functions and reduce operating costs, (mostly through volunteers and natural attrition).• Led a major reward initiative, reviewing reward principles and introduced a job evaluation and grading system and moved from incremental increases to performance based reward.• Managed a number of difficult people (employee relations) issues, bringing to successful (amicable and economic) conclusions. Successfully proceeded with and won a difficult ET case.
