I have worked as full-time photographer, writer and outdoor professional for over a decade, telling the stories of hard to access landscapes and wildlife. All of my work conveys the importance of stewardship and compassion for our planet and the beings who call it home. I believe strongly in pushing my physical boundaries in the outdoors as a means to connect with my subjects and the folks who will see and read my stories. In the long-term I have studied and documented the American Pika, an animal I love very much and am happy to represent to the world. My work with this creature can be found globally in research libraries, in print and on screen. My debut book, The American Pika: Notes From the Field was released in November of 2021.I have a wide skill set outside of photography and writing that includes teaching all ages, public speaking, mountaineering, paddling, extended rucking, winter survival, wildlife tracking, guiding & driving in extreme conditions. I am certified in wilderness first-aid.I have thru-hiked the Superior Hiking Trail, North Country Trail, Colorado Trail, Sky Island Traverse and have section hiked most of the CDT and AZT.Nearly all of my work happens in the American Southwest, focusing in on the San Juan Mountains (where I call home), New Mexico, Arizona and Utah. I am very passionate about this part of the country and all of the magic that exists here.In 2022 I published my second book, Life With Mountain Goats: From Forests To Clouds. This book is the culmination of my project tracking a herd of mountain goats in one of the most challenging mountain ranges they were re-introduced to.In 2023 my long awaited book Healing In The Southwest is set to be published. This book is about my healing quest after losing my family and suffering two very complicated miscarriages. In 2024 I embarked on My Sky Island Traverse, which was a very extended version of the SIT, where I studied the extreme biodiversity of the Madrean Sky Islands over the span of nearly a year.In 2025 I am working through an extremely challenging multi-sport project called Wild Hearts of Canyonlands to better understand the varied biomes and life calling canyon country home.
