Inspiring self-development and personal growth in others through service has been the core motive of every decision I have made throughout my career journey. It has led me to explore and appreciate the value of music and visual arts across cultures: it has led me to understand that the arts have always been a major catalyst for change. I have had the privilege of serving in the United States Marine Corps as a musician for eight years, supporting military ceremonies and maintaining the long-kept tradition of music as a vital element of Esprit De Corps, which fuels the honor, respect, and pride that all Marines share for their esteemed branch. In that time, I have led Marines through required trainings, physical fitness programs, professional counseling, military leadership guidance, and peer-to-peer mentorship.Seeking opportunities to extend my social service beyond the military, I transitioned into the civilian workforce, supporting projects as an administrative support specialist at a non-profit research institute. My long-term goal is to acquire a Master's degree in Art Therapy, ultimately to work with veterans suffering from trauma (PTSD, TBI, etc.) to improve their mental health and quality of life. I enjoy learning new things and connecting with people across a range of industries, so don't hesitate to reach out via LinkedIn or my email at dddewitt92@yahoo.com if you'd like to get in touch.
