I’m Deja, a double-major Marketing & Advertising and Psychology new-grad with a passion for building pillars in the community. When I was growing up, I didn't have the answers or examples on how to cope with things like pain and stress nor did I have the skills to develop my mind: I knew at a young age that what I saw around me was not I wanted my life to be in the future. I found my purpose was to break the generational curses and CREATE the life I wanted for myself, but to also pave the way for others. I am forever grateful for my upbringing and I believe sometimes our pain isn't just for us, but to show others how to overcome with grace. It's all for a bigger picture.I have a psychology background because my passion and purpose in life is, in part, to help equip others with the tools to cope, develop on their own, face their problems head on healthily, shift mindset/perspective, and more. I find that there's not enough people here to help others because many of us are just focused on surviving with the environment we're in- I'm here to change that. Adults and those around me always came to me looking for answers and I could never understand why until I realized my value and why people come to me for so many things in the first place: I don't attack things from the obvious perspective but I feel like there's so many ways to look at or go about things and I've helped a lot of people with just that alone in over the past decade. It's always nice to be able to do so even if I were to never get acknowledged for it, It's something I love to do and will continue!When I was in college, I started with my marketing degree because I didn't think to follow where my heart called me, hence why my psychology degree started after this. Despite such, I had a change in direction and I started my own business and put the Marketing & Advertising bachelor I got to work as my ultimate end goal is to be someone like a coach, mentor, or private psychotherapist with my own business. My degrees come together where I'm able to successfully find my audience and market my business not only for the products I offer but for those looking for a piece of wisdom or perspective in what they have going on or the direction they want to take for their goals. Kaizen is a philosophy I'm deeply aligned with because I'm a person who knows anything can be made better, my self-development journey is never over and I'm a student for life, grateful to be here and learn something new everyday.
