Coordinator, Facility Rentals And Events - Sam Noble Museum
Norman, Oklahoma
For one of the largest university-based museums in the world, I was the sole person responsible for growing and maintaining an active venue rental program to support program efforts for the public museum. By first implementing an annual marketing plan in cooperation with the museum’s public relations department, I identified and sought key demographics for our rental sales, resulting in a first ever self-supporting budget and 40% increase in number of private events booked at the venue. In my five years, I coordinated no less than seventy-five weddings, as well as over five hundred university and private events during my term, ranging from parties, lectures, film festivals, conferences and other such events for local, state, national and international groups. My position was responsible for hiring, training and supervising event staff, as well as up to one hundred event-specific staff from setup to strike. I served as the project-lead for an $80k sound and video installation, developed tracking systems for leasing, planning and reporting on events, and represented the museum at state and national conferences, as well as trade shows and outside events.
