Responsible for performing key financial functions for an assigned portfolio of electric generating facilities, including internal and external reporting, budgeting and forecasting, business analytics, monthly close process, treasury functions and communication of results to various stakeholders, including business partners in other areas of finance as well as senior management and outside investors.

• Performing research, scoping and initial assessment for the new ASC 606 (Revenue) and ASC 842 (Leases) accounting standards. Responsibilities include identifying which commodity and non-commodity related contracts are in scope of each standard, identifying and documenting major revenue streams, revenue and lease models and running each models through required questions and requirements of each standard. • Reading and understanding structured commodity and commodity-related contracts, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Load-following and Unit-contingent Agreements, Natural Gas transactions, Options, Nat. Gas Asset Management Agreements and Energy Management Services Agreements. • Preparing and maintaining written documentation all contract provisions, including commodity scheduling, pricing, derivatives, leases, settlements, etc.• Preparing NSNP elections and documentation for PPAs. • Preparing the Principal Market Determination for Day 1 Gains. • Preparing documentation for quarterly SOX Compliance and various other accounting policies, including policies on Notionals, Leases, Readily Convertible to Cash of Underlyings and CF and FV Hedge Accounting (interest rate swaps). • Lead CF and FV hedge de-designation project for all NextEra subsidiaries. • Performing VIE Analysis/Questionnaire for counterparties with significant contracts with Power Marketing. • Preparing accounting positions to apply newly issued Lease and Revenue Standard to all Power Marketing’s commodity contracts and PPAs. • Supporting the Origination Group in identifying and communicating key provisions and potential accounting issues in structured contracts, including providing advice on accounting provisions.

1) Supervising and performing SOX testing of Risk Management and Accounting functions and 2) Auditing processes of Risk Management, Front Office (Trade Floor), Accounting, Supply Chain, and other regulated and de-regulated business functions.
