About Dejan Dragic

First of all, I love geodesy and everything related to the geospatial industry. Ever since my first experience with an infield survey, I have been obsessed with finding the way in how to implement modern surveying techniques in everyday work of classic surveyors. Geodesy is a bit like a never-ending puzzle and I am very passionate about finding a way to solve it. I strongly believe that there are many areas related to geodesy that can improve our everyday life and also make a huge impact on our environment. I have started my professional experience while I was a student in one small surveying office working mostly on topographic surveying projects. After a while, I started to work on projects related to land consolidation. After that, I had my first contact with UAVs and photogrammetry and I simply fell in love. I did my bachelor thesis with Aibotix Aibot X6 in mapping swamp area in order to make the infrastructural project. After that, I have decided to enrol on a master programme of geodesy and geomatics on Leibniz University in Hannover. My focus was on image analysis.After that experience, I have decided to go back to Serbia and I have started working in the official Leica/Hexagon/Wingtra distributor office. There I was part of the team that was in charge of photogrammetry projects. We were processing satellite imagery to get the digital orthoimage and we did image analysis. Besides that, I was developing the precision agriculture field. Usage of drone and satellite data in purposes of precision agriculture can help us to save our environment and also save money. After almost two years I decided to proceed with my professional development and I came back to Germany where I first started to work in one surveying company and then I moved to Quantum-Systems. There I had the opportunity to develop business opportunities and to show the real power of well-made drones. I was building strong connections in the geospatial world and one of the biggest deals that I made was partnership agreement between Pix4D and Quantum-Systems. After a while I decided to pursue a bigger challenge and switched to PhaseOne. I work as an Sales Director Unmanned. I won a Bold Initiative Competition for Young Leaders with a project about Precision Agriculture in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized by the Embassy of US. As part of that project, multiple sessions on this topic were hosted together with universities from Bosnia and I hosted a Precision Agriculture Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
