Distinguished TechnologistHewlett Packard Labs Sep 1998 - PresentUsOpen Cirrus Cloud computing testbed (managing director), sponsored by HP, Intel, Yahoo: direct technical work; potentially broad impact on cloud computing research in academia and industry across 10 sites.Reiki, pan-HP program on commercial products incident management, addressing multi-billion costs. Direct automated incident service delivery; emphasis on diagnosis, clean data, self-healing, and automated learning. Shared Services Platform program. Program manage R&D, partners, and pilots to automate and cost effectively deliver IT as a service. Managed over 30 people team from A*STAR (Sg), SAP (Aus), HP (Ind, Braz, US, Can). Managing technology transfer between HP Labs and HP Software and Enterprise Servers and Storage Business Units. Oversaw technology transfer, create strategy, develop process, and assist with M&A on-boarding. Managing Virtual Desktop Systems (VDS) program, an automated prototype of virtual machine management. VDS provided a single “pane of glass” for system administrators and ease of use for role-based users. Adaptive monitoring. Technology transfer of data assurance to HP-IT to streamline their operations resulting in significant savings. It became a key component of the Consolidation Analysis Tool in HP Services and transferred to ChinaGrid, UFCG (Brazil), and Grid Research Center (Calgary). Service Deployment. Created a community of developers resulting in four specifications and independent reference implementations (HP, NEC, Softricity, and UFCG). Demonstrated interoperability of the proposed standard. Failures Recovery: investigating reliability of the ia-64 based systems: recovery support at the operating system, application, and programming environment levels. More than eight years later, similar approaches are still used.Global Memory Management: design and implementation in a multicomputer system: enabling cross-NT shared memory on a four-node machine without OS changes, address recovery and security. -

National Soccer CoachAyso Region 26 Sep 1997 - Mar 2017Palo Alto, Ca, UsI have been youth soccer coach in the past 15 years, coaching recreational and competitive girls, boys, and co-ed teams in Acton, MA, and Palo Alto, CA. I coached largely in AYSO, but also in CYSA, and in Gunn High School, in the competition for German tournaments. Why do I list soccer coaching as a part of professional activities? I have learned more about management on the soccer field than in managment classes. How you build or lose trust with players, how you motivate, how you train people, how you form team, compete, win and lose, lead and follow, define priorities, understand objectives, and many other aspects are equally important on the soccer field than at work place. "Love them or lose them" and many other sayings are applicable in proffession as they are in sports. -
