    OneDrive Windows Modern File ManagerReinventing the windows shell. The Modern File Manager (MFM) was designed to replace the classic shell explorer for windows, and merged both cloud (OneDrive) and local file management semantics to provide users distributed, fault tolerant, and remote access to their content.  • Designed and developed data layer components of the MFM that exposes the system shell to the modern UI using windows RT APIs. • Wrote base file property provider and change/event notification service layer components. Modules developed provide fine grained control on how data from the underlying shell are reported, and enables the ability to override or format data presented to the UI.  • Implemented service ramps and data throttling semantics in the MFM data layer. This feature blocks access to online only content when required and provides the ability to notify users of instances when the cloud service is being ramped, throttled or access blocked due to abuse.  • Designed and implemented the keyboard accessibility service component of the MFM. This feature provides keyboard only access and control to MFM file management and navigation commands. Keyboard only control/access are critical features required in products shipped by Microsoft, and cater to visually impaired or otherwise handicapped users, while also providing accelerated access to core application functionality.

The photos provider serves as a content server for photos and videos media hosted on a user’s device, facilitating remote viewing of the content on windows 8 thin clients. • Provided the capability for the sync client to limit the incidence of synchronization conflicts requiring user intervention. Patents have been applied for the procedures developed to address and automatically resolve synchronization conflicts.• Added critical failure handling and mitigation features to improve the robustness of the product via mitigating fatal failure instances where possible or translating them to recoverable Watson Window Error Reporting faults. • Contributed to the development of the Windows 8 Data Access Layer, used by the modern photos client for transactions/communications with remote content providers. • Re-architected and re-implemented the sync client UX core and sync engine integration layers. Work done provided the capability for the sync client/engine to serve multiple clients on the same platform concurrently.
