I am supervising Business Administration students for their bachelor and master thesis.

Shign is a data science start-up that helps organizations to improve the work environment. I started with improving the data analysis methods for short term projects and I set up the version control system in Git. Later on I started developing simulation models for facility managers in order to give real-time insights about the work environment and predict facility management decisions. I do this in Vensim, NetLogo, and Python. In addition, I made a pilot simulation model for dynamic routing in the entertainment industry.

My research focused on combining two simulation methods, system dynamics and agent-based modeling, in regard to resilience of social-ecological systems. One of my case studies was the pressure of tourism on the city of Benidorm, Spain and its environmental impact. I was involved with several publications as co-author. As part of the PhD I did the following courses: software engineering, agent-based modeling, and big data.
