I was responsible for planning, conducting, and providing oral and written reports on site assessment/evaluation visits with state and local law enforcement agencies for compliance with grant requirements, identify problems and facilitate solutions, and identify, evaluate and document “Best Practices” and prepare written briefings for the Director on the current status of grants and local issues of importance. I assisted in the application/award process for the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program that provided more than $500 million in reimbursement to hundreds of state and local agencies. I participated with a team to develop training objectives and worked with contractors to produce training for grantees in multiple states and traveled to present and evaluate the training provided. I worked closely with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of South Carolina and other senior executives at the local and state level to insure program compliance, problem solve, and to insure the most effective and efficient use of their grant funding for two years. My accomplishments included having been selected for and traveled to New York City in support to the Public Safety Officer's Benefits Program following the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001 and I received an Individual Special Act Award in recognition of research and policy development done in support of the Bureau of Justice Assistant's Anti-Terrorism Working Group.

Database manager for the Troops to COPS program and responsible for the design and oversight, and quality control for the Troops '99 Reimbursement database, data entry screens and reports employing Microsoft Access. I worked in the capacity of mediator and facilitator between the competing needs of multiple branches, users, designers, supervisors and the contractor for the design and oversight of the Troops '99 award modification database and interface. For the Phase 1 grant program, conducted research and documented the various processes carried out by the grant team and identified the documentation employed in the grant management process. Conducted and evaluated training provided by contractors in order to revise training at a national training conference for recipients of Problem Solving Partnership grants. Coordinated efforts and information on specific grants related to ongoing criminal investigations of misappropriation of grant funds. I prepared a written briefing on Kentucky COPS grants for Laurie Robinson, then Assistant Attorney General (Office of Justice Programs). Organized and supervised COPS representation and booth set-up at the National Council for Crime Prevention's Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.
