Hello, My name is Delana. I am currently a Police Officer with the Brighton Police Department. Before getting into Law Enforcement I was an Experienced Certified Dialysis Technician with a demonstrated history of working in the health care industry. Before leaving dialysis I was a Preceptor and enjoyed training new faces. One of my passions is to teach others what I have learned. My second is to always work towards being better than I was yesterday. I am always looking for new training and teaching opportunities.I was skilled in Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Administrative Assistance, Dialysis, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Medical Billing.I left to pursue my nursing degree at Colorado Christian University and after finishing pre-requisites in 2018 realized money and paying for school was going to be a challenge. I changed my degree to Health Care Administration and Management and am currently enrolled at Colorado State University Global Campus with a graduation date of Dec 2023. As I Police Officer my goal was to become familiar with law enforcement and use my military experience to understand the stresses that comes with criminals as well as those who struggle with substance abuse and are below the poverty line. Becoming a Police Officer as given me a different outlook on those who struggle. My drive is still in the medical field as I plan to pursue an education in either nursing or a masters in management and leadership.
