I graded homework assignments, tests, and research papers for an undergraduate semantics and pragmatics class. Part of grading included identifying areas where several students misunderstood the concepts, and reviewing those concepts in class to clarify them. I provided one-on-one tutoring and consultations on an as-needed basis with students, especially regarding their final research papers. Some of my students were non-native speakers of English, so I explained linguistic concepts to them using simple language, edited their research papers and worked with them to develop their understanding of Academic English, and provided support for them whenever they need help or clarification. I also maintained the class website to keep it up-to-date with grades and class materials.

I searched through 28 English usage manuals to isolate the core linguistic principles they hinge on, then broke down those prosaic usage rules into technical linguistic descriptions. Using these descriptions, I worked with a team of researchers to analyze trends in English prescriptivist tradition across time, category, and location. We presented our findings at the 2017 International Prescriptivism Conference in Park City, Utah.
