As an experienced Team Leader, I managed people and tested projects critical to the delivery of the Canadian Government's Employment Insurance Program, a key component of the Canada's social safety net. Operating under tight legislative deadlines and guided by the mandate to create a leaner government, I led my team to consistently deliver projects on time and within budget, meeting all Quality requirements.As a Team Lead, my challenge was to improve upon the largely manual and time consuming tasks of testing the systems for which I was responsible. Helping my staff see their role within the 'big picture' motivated my employees to take an active role in process improvement initiatives. I introduced time and cost saving test automation while expanding the skill set of my team in use of the new tools. These innovations resulted in a 30% decrease in the time required to test new versions, reduced errors, increased test capacity and improved overall quality. We included these process changes in the integration testing with our partners.
