Lead the QA effort for 1 of 6 development tracks for a state of the art financial application and platform within Fidelity’s Strategic Investment Products and Data (SIPD) division. Directed and monitored the effort of multiple QA engineers located in Dalian (China).for a state of the art financial application and platform. Operating in 2 weeks sprints, I collaborated with the Agile team to groom and test feature stories, production defects and change requests.Developed test strategies and plans, deployed builds and performed end-to-end testing while identifying automation opportunities for 2 major releases of new functionality.

Relocated to the Ottawa area, to test software programs used in the field offices. From Business Tester to Project Leader to Testing Analyst, I moved through a series of positions of increasing responsibility and scope. I supplemented my on the job training with IT courses from Algonquin college in Ottawa, and gained valuable insight into the testing discipline and test leadership. My initial focus was on interpreting and analyzing program specifications and user requirements to create and execute test scenario's and test scripts, using manual test methods for defect discovery. Progressing through to designing the test strategy while considering the white box and black box aspects of test integration. I assumed increasing levels of responsibility while being promoted to supervise team members, providing leadership, organizing team efforts and delegating the workload amongst a multi-disciplined team. I initiated development of my technical skills, learning relational databases and SQL to query and update data and I began using test automation to ease the more error prone and repetitive tasks. I also had the opportunity to verify the compatibility of computer hardware within my role as tester.
