-Managed the technical programs of IDF’s expert groups working on Environment and Sustainability; Farm Management; and Animal Health and Welfare, while ensuring adherence to the directives of the Science and Programme Coordination Committee in close coordination with Head Office staff.-Represented the global dairy sector at FAO and EC multi-stakeholder project meetings (e.g., FAO-coordinated Livestock Environmental Assessment and Performance (LEAP) Partnership (http://www.fao.org/partnerships/leap/en/); EC Product Environmental Footprint Dairy Pilot (http://ec.europa.eu/environment/eussd/smgp/ef_pilots.htm).-Contributed to the development and publication of fact sheets (e.g., “Dairying and the environment”) and internationally applicable guidance documents aimed at improving the environmental impact of the dairy sector (e.g., carbon footprinting, water footprinting, biodiversity assessment).-Contributed to communications activities (annual reports, newsletters, press releases, website content) and general administration.

-Designed two surveys and conducted interviews with small, medium and large-scale growers about pineapple production practices and opportunities for improving environmental sustainability both on-farm and at the landscape level.-Coordinated regional workshops for pineapple growers to discuss survey results; helped organize and carry out an international forum on improving the environmental sustainability of pineapple production; presented research findings at conferences.

-Coordinated and conducted research on using deliberative decision-making tools to make difficult environment-human development decisions that require tradeoff analysis.-Coordinated and conducted fieldwork on the applicability of aspects of structured decision making to initiatives intended to prevent, manage or transform conflicts between natural resource management and agricultural production.-Coordinated regional workshops for pineapple growers to discuss survey results; helped organize and carry out an international forum on improving the environmental sustainability of pineapple production; presented research findings at conferences.-Designed a survey and conducted interviews with a random sample of rural community members from Pococí, Guácimo and Siquirres cantons in Limón Province; coordinated workshops with pineapple, banana, and ornamental plant growers, community members, and government representatives; analyzed data; and reported results in peer reviewed journals, international and local conferences, and workshops with stakeholders.-Designed a survey and conducted interviews with a random sample of residents (n = 560) in the Atlantic region of Costa Rica; trained and supervised eight field assistants; analyzed quantitative and qualitative data; drafted reports and publications; and presented results at national and international forums in Costa Rica, USA, and Malawi.

-Drafted proposals to seek funding for EARTH University’s Scholarship Program, wrote grant reports, communications materials and newsletters, managed website content, translated documents (Spanish-English), and coordinated special events.

-Managed the President’s Office operations and budget, Advisory Board, Management Committee, bilingual communications and media-relations, special event coordination, bilingual external relations activities, program development and oversight, bilingual individual and group interpretation, and bilingual translating, fundraising and grant writing.
