“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”― Viktor E. Frankl, Man's Search for MeaningI'm Delaynie, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor currently working as a school-based therapist for middle and high schoolers. Before moving to San Diego in 2022, I was an Intensive Care Coordinator and Outpatient therapist at Rebekah Children's Services, a community mental health agency in Campbell, CA. My primary focus was family reunification and children 0-20 in the foster care system. I graduated with my MA in Counseling Psychology in August 2022 from the University of San Francisco, where I developed a passion for trauma work with adolescents and culturally-rooted generational trauma work. My clinical interests include internal family systems and narrative therapy, liberation psychology and the ways epigenetics and ancestral experiences influence our bodies and minds. In addition to my clinical experience, I have experience in administering assessments including the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment, developing treatment plans in collaboration with clients, writing county assessments, intake coordination, and Medi-cal billing. I'm passionate about reforming our mental health system, increasing access to services, and providing a safe, trusting space for clients to explore themselves.
