This was a senior management role within a global central hub of the format industry across Europe and the world in this 40+ member association of European broadcasters which owns the “Eurovision” brand. The job involved regular contact with the senior board members of major European broadcasters , including the BBC. A central part of my job at the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) was to build a network amongst over 40 broadcasters to improve communication and cooperation in the development of original programme content, ideas and formats to boost the relevance of the output of member states public broadcasters. A significant duty was to create and develop new co-production.

Undertook a number of consultancy assignments with this world-leading advertising agency. They were based on advising the Global Account Manger on the Diageo account, one of Saatchi’s most important and in relation to the Guinness brand . It involved advising on various production ideas relating to factual and entertainment content, regarding its technical feasibility, cultural authenticity and brand resonance within Guinness’s key global markets of Africa and the Caribbean.

Set up this consultancy boutique primarily to take advantage of international opportunities, particularly in Africa. The result was two key projects commissioned by government ministries in NigeriaEDUCATION TV FOR NIGERIAN MINISTRY OF EDUCATION/WORLD BANKThe brief was to deliver a development concept and initial feasibility report for the creation and delivery of a distance learning programme across Nigeria using television.HEART OF NIGERIA FOR MINISTRY OF INFORMATION This was a broadcast media-based re-branding PR project aimed at improving the image of Nigeria abroad and highlighting the positive aspects of the country, as a counter to the negative reporting in much of the international media.
