Is marketing a science or an art? Whichever way you look at it, it's getting harder and harder for companies to cut through the noise. Especially in the B2B tech space (probably everywhere!), competition is fierce and the way companies differentiate themselves is not so much the product (which is obviously a big part of it), but how they communicate around it.And it's not just about positioning and messaging. Everything you communicate has to tell you why I make a difference to you, dear customer, and how I can help you, and ultimately why you should buy from me, one company among many.That's what I've been doing for over 15 years in a variety of industries: telling compelling stories that resonate with tech audiences and differentiate the companies I work for from their competitors.Which sectors? Fintech, e-commerce, subscription management, payments, privacy compliance, technical documentation, product analytics - a nice spread that gives me lots of different perspectives.In short, I have worked hard to add real value in many areas - corporate marketing, media and analyst relations, customer advocacy, content marketing - TOFU, MOFU, BOFU- , messaging and positioning, product marketing, inbound marketing, lead generation and nurturing, and event management - both online and in person.I enjoy working with cross-functional teams, external contractors and agencies around the world and am a strong advocate of collaboration and transparency. I design and implement strategic programs, but am completely hands-on when it comes to execution (who doesn't want a safe pair of hands?).Finally, to make marketing more science than art, I continue to study, read, learn, ask questions, experiment and fill in the blanks.
