STEM Academy is one of 5 pilot schools on the larger campus of the Esteban Torres High School complex in East Los Angeles, CA. I had to adapt to teaching during the pandemic online and transitioning to in person instruction after. Key Responsibilities: -Modified learning materials and provided small group instruction for 20 students with Individual Educational Plans (IEP), behavioral, and academic contracts each quarter. - Evaluated student testing data and created focused learning skill plans every 5 weeks which led to a 10 point increase in student reading scores for every 6 week data cycle.- Streamlined 6 digital platforms to accommodate student learning styles and language development during online distance learning. -Designed and taught English courses, including one section of Advanced ELD, one section of Language & Literacy, two sections of American Literature & Composition, two sections of Contemporary Composition, one section of 9th grade English, one section of Creative Writing and one section of Film. About: All Souls is a private Dual Immersion (Spanish and Mandarin) K-8th School. Key Responsibilities: Checking in a group of 30+ students at the beginning of after school check in. Supporting and Tutoring students in a wide range of 4th-8th grade academic subjects. Supervising the group of 30 students in addition to all other grade levels outside during playtime.
