I am a National Board Certified Teacher and hold teaching certificates in Middle School Science (4-8), Elementary Education (K-6), and Special Education(P-12). I've had experience in the special education resource and inclusion classrooms working with children in grades kindergarten through 12th grade. I've had the joy of helping educate those students with a variety of disabilities including Autism, Down Syndrome , Learning Disabilities, Other Health Impairments, and Behavior Disorders. I taught as a general education science teacher for 12 years. I’ve taught 6th grade Language Arts and Earth and Space Science. I love the hands-on AMSTI curriculum and incorporating STEAM into student learning. My background in special education uniquely qualifies me as an expert on differentiation of instruction. I love inspiring my students to learn by providing choices, tapping into their different learning styles, and using project based learning. I am a huge advocate of the one-to-one initiative of getting technology in the hands of all students. Technology is one of the most crucial elements to incorporate into education so that students are set up for success in our digital society. Technology is just one of many ways to connect students to the world around them making learning more concrete and opening children’s eyes to limitless possibilities for their future.
