About Delroy Wright

Hi all, I'm Dellie, and I'm pursuing a career in Computer Science. I am proficient in Python, C++, Java, Javascript, and HTML. I'm currently enrolled in my Junior Year at KU. I'm interested in safe code, machine learning, and data science. I’m currently the president of ACM at KU.I've worked at Code Ninjas, a teaching program for children ages 5-15 interested in coding and game development. There I teach Javascript and C++, we use scratch, makecode, in-browser, and unity game development to teach kids computer science concepts. Understanding how to explain these more complex concepts to children has proven challenging yet incredibly rewarding as watching a child gain interest for something that I love doing is an amazing feeling.I've also interned at Cerner for their Real-time System Health and Architecture team. There I built a conditional dns forwarder using Red Hat Enterprise Linux to fix a problem with their DNS server being overloaded and difficult to configure. My forwarder allowed for simple configuration of servers as well as automatic redirection as to not overload Cerner's DNS server.

My forwarder allowed for simple configuration of servers and automatic synchronization through a github repository using webhooks. This application sends specific DNS requests to user-configured downstream servers to not overload Cerner's DNS server.
