Directs a team of experienced underwriting professionals that is responsible for overseeing an underwriting team setting priorities, communicating key goals and tracking performance to ensure team success.Actively works with appropriate internal stakeholders to ensure strong alignment between target setting process, underwriting and sales execution, and collaboration related to non-standard pricing items.Drives a disciplined, proactive and timely approach to reporting on execution results.Identifies and analyzes risks and formulates balanced decisions on the pricing of prospective offers, in force business, renewal business and implementation of block strategy.

Primary duty is to analyze and underwrite credit decisions submitted by External & in-house Sales agents. Independent decision making ability and offering advice of junior team members on more complex and questionable issues, outside of the assigned scope. Perform research, and financial or statistical analysis to determine and support the credit worthiness of such requests. Prepare analysis, reports, and presentations for review and approval.

Ensuring compliance with lending policies and regulations; covenant reviews; gathering, reviewing and analyzing financial statements, industry research and independent evaluations of the risk.

Carry out underwriting duties according to commercial credit policies, procedures, federal and state laws. Participate in resolution of operational and compliance audit issues in conjunction with senior management. Assist management in the development of streamlining policies and review procedures.

Underwrite commercial credit applications sourced from the Account Executives using conventional judgmental analysis as the primary underwriting method. Provide ongoing loan portfolio management through continuous monitoring with quarterly and annual reviews. Handle the renewal of existing credit facilities, monitoring financial and covenant compliance, and servicing modification requests.

Initiate Contact with customer to determine reason for delinquency. Reviewing terms of sale, service, or credit contract with customer, while at the same time securing payment in full or an acceptable payment arrangement.

Analyze financial strength and creditworthiness of potential new customers and counterparties by obtaining and analyzing financial statements and third-party credit information. Monitor company’s over credit line exposure and past due balances, contacting customers to reduce credit exposure and make payment arrangements. Ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures.
