With my music career being my greatest asset, I have been lucky enough to explore new career fields to compliment my journey as a musician. I have been playing piano for 17 years, have played professionally for 5 years, and also taught lessons for 5 years both independently and through two different universities in New Hampshire. After a couple of years of teaching, I took an interest to the inner workings in the brain that allow us to play music, engage with it physically and emotionally, and how we remember all those notes we play! This led me to transfer colleges to University of New Hampshire to pursue another major in Neuroscience & Behavior. Here I was able to get some lab experience, get exposed to programming with EEG, and learn about the various networks and mechanisms involved in the processes listed above.In the aftermath of 2020, I found myself getting outside more than ever and found that having the skills to stay self-sufficient in the backcountry would be key. I got my certification as a Wilderness First Responder and got hired at Attitash Mountain Resort as a ski patroller, and have been searching out new certifications and skills since. In 2021, I sought out Avalanche Education (AAIRE I), and EMT-B certification, and learned the basics of glacial mountaineering and crevasse rescue on Mt. Baker in Washington.As I continue these careers and travels made possible by them, I continue to look for the proper blend and balance between these three fields of study/profession and am very interested in any opportunity in any field.
