Demarco Davidson, M. Div Email and Phone Number
I graduated from Missouri University of S&T in 2006, and returned to Saint Louis with the skills to recognize flaws in systems & processes for improvement. After visiting my former school district (Hazelwood) & traveling through my old neighborhoods, I became painfully aware of the problems afflicting the neighborhoods WE call home. Unfortunately, I did not see many solutions. So I began researching and learning the systems & processes that have led St. Louis to become what it is today. In Engineering Management, we say that the word S.Y.S.T.E.M. (Save Yourself Some Time, Energy, and Money). While researching & developing solutions for St. Louis, I notice the silence of too many of OUR elected leaders who continue to allow St. Louis to fail. So I began my journey into all aspects of community service which led me to volunteering with youth groups, congregations, community organizations, and political campaigns.Volunteering wasn't enough for me. I worked as a substitute teacher for 3 years in my former school district to gain a better understanding of what was being experienced in the daily lives of students & teachers. After volunteering for a state representative campaign, I was offered to serve as a Field Organizer for the historic Obama campaign in 2008. My journey into politics would grow as I utilized my engineering skills to provide solutions for political issues.Like many others, my life changed in 2014 after the murder of Mike Brown Jr. Through multiple connections, I was trusted to become the founder of the Michael Brown Jr Memorial Fund. I currently serve as the Executive Director of the Michael Brown Sr. Chosen for Change Foundation. In the midst of turbulent & traumatic events, my faith kept me grounded. I became a member of St. John's UCC (STL City) in Jan. 2010. I currently serve as the President of the congregation. Because of my experiences in politics, education, & organizing, I was offered to serve as the Voter Program Lead for Metropolitan Congregations United - STL.
