Derek Mckenzie is a Information Technology System Architect at Georgia Institute of Technology. He possess expertise in windows, windows server, mac os x, mac os x server, microsoft office and 22 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "I am writing this letter of reference on behalf of Mr. Derek McKenzie, one of my graduates in the Computer Information Systems (CIS) Networking program at Ogeechee Technical College (OTC). As the instructor for this program area, I had Derek in several of my advanced computer networking classes. The purpose of the Computer Information Systems program at Ogeechee Technical College is to provide educational opportunities to individuals that will enable them to obtain the necessary knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advance in the field of Computer Information Systems. Students that graduate from this program will have the computer knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill the needs of the service area and to successfully integrate into the business community. Derek was one of my first 'Hybrid' students; meaning he took classes at Georgia Southern University (4-year college) and at our nationally recognized technical college here as well. Derek was an excellent student, both academically and in regards to work ethics. He was hard-working, punctual, well respected and academically successful. He was a great student, but more importantly, he demonstrated excellent work ethics skills including strengths in leadership and team-work. While Derek attended school to learn how to effectively administer, troubleshoot and secure computer networks, this is not what impressed me the most. It was the little things. Derek was passionate, inquisitive, and enthusiastic and was not afraid to ask questions.
